But in recent news, the Swiss Government announced they are considering no longer stockpiling an emergency coffee reserve because of the apparent lack of advantages of drinking coffee.
There are 15,300 tonnes saved at the moment, but by 2022 there will be no additional coffee beans joining this sizable stash. The Swiss government declared the reason for this move is because “Coffee contains almost no calories and therefore does not contribute, from the physiological perspective, to safeguarding nutrition”.
