Put some apple cider vinegar in a bottle or jar and cover the opening with plastic wrap. Secure plastic wrap with a rubber band. Create a small hole in the plastic wrap so that fruit flies can smell the vinegar and crawl in. Don’t make the holes too big or the flies would be able to escape. Trapped flies will eventually drown in the vinegar.
Use a shallow dish bowl and fill it with an inch of apple cider vinegar and a tablespoon of sugar. Add some fruit scented dish soap and leave the dish uncovered outside to lure them out from your house.
