Churreria La Lola opens in Singapore, offers pork floss churros and other exclusive items

The Filipino food chain Churreria La Lola has opened its first outlet outside the Philippines at The Central in Clarke Quay.

La Lola offers the popular Spanish dough pastries “fried in 100% olive oil”  that comes in different variants and a selection of dips and glazings in Dark, White, Matcha and Purple Yam flavours. It also serves the stuffed variety called Xuxos (pronounced as chuchos) that are filled with Nutella and Dulce de Leche.

La Lola Singapore’s Pork Floss Xuxo churros and Mango Yakult Tea

Singapore, being the location of their first international outlet, will feature menu items that are exclusive to the country such as the Pork Floss Xuxo churros—a savoury variety filled with garlic aioli and topped with pork floss. Other Singapore-exclusive products include the kaya dip, cream cheese dip and the Mango Yakult Tea

La Lola to open in multiple locations in Singapore

Churreria La Lola opened its first store in Manila in 2014 and has since become one of the fastest-growing food chains in the Philippines. It now has 15 outlets across the country.

According to MFT Ventures Singapore, the group that brought La Lola to the city-state, Singapore is “the perfect market” because Singaporeans are “known to be cosmopolitan foodies, quick to embrace dishes that are authentic and delicious.” It also said it believes that there is a huge potential for the food chain in the country and will “continue to grow in multiple locations” here.
