Valentines – also known as Singles’ Awareness Day – is upon us. But that doesn’t mean Valentines Day singles can’t still have a great night out on the 14th.
There’s a whole host of anti-Valentines Parties going on in Clarke Quay, but for those who just want a chill night out (or who have to go to work the next day) – we present these options.
Valentines Day Singles: The ultimate Galentine’s guide
1. Feast on oysters at Wild Bar

Avoid those overpriced Valentine’s Day menus and have a great night out with your gal-pals instead! Head to the Wild Bar at Shaw Towers and grab their 5 – 7pm oyster deal. Get 3 oysters for $5 and wash it down with wine or Sangria for only $7! You can also play beer pong, billiards or sing your heart out in their karaoke room (free for patrons).
Location: 100 Beach Road #01-36/37 Shaw Towers.
2. Sip cocktails and chomp finger-food at Bar Rouge

“Thank you, next.” Bar Rouge’s ‘In Memory of Love’ Anti-Valentine party is perfect for those who are just so over Valentine’s. Feast on cocktails and light bites cheekily called My Ex’s Tears (S$20++), A Pizza My Heart and Can’t Touch These Buns (S$28++). Entry is complimentary.
Location: Bar Rouge Singapore, 2 Stamford Road, Floor 71, 178882.
3. Go easy on the beers (or not!) at OverEasy at One Fullerton
A post shared by OverEasy Singapore (@shakeembuns) on Siam the couples having V-Day dinner at the One Fullerton Hotel and head over to the bar at OverEasy. Chill with your friends with a craft beer or house beer amidst the lush greenery of Dempsey Hill.
This America-style dinner is the favourite of many bar-hoppers at night. Overeasy also has a branch at Liat Towers in Orchard, but the one at Fullerton has a better chance of not being swarmed with couples.
Location: 1 Fullerton Road #01-06 One Fullerton, Singapore 049213.
5. Dose up on cocktails at Operation Dagger at Ann Siang Hill

This speakeasy at Ann Siang Hill is one of the more hidden spots in this well-known drinking area. Load up on experimental cocktails under a cloud of light bulbs and minimalistic interior.
Larger groups should try their omakase set – for six customisable cocktails paired with bar bites.
Location: 7 Ann Siang Hill, #B1-01, Singapore 069791
6. Chill at the homey Woody Family Cafe
A post shared by Pinkietoe 👣 (@thegreenbits) on
This family-run business in Sembawang will transport you straight back to the 1970s Singapore. Not only does this place serve great Peranakan and Western cuisine for a reasonable price, but it is also just ulu enough that most likely won’t be overrun by couples.
This cafe does have a Valentine’s Day Set for Two ($88+), but you can go àla carte with home-cooked favourites like Homemade Onion Rings and St Louis Baby Back Pork Ribs.

Location: 12F Andrews Avenue, Singapore 759930.
Open from Mondays to Sundays from 3pm to 12am. Contact the Woody Family Cafe via their Facebook page for reservations.
7. Rider’s Cafe
This cafe at Bukit Timah Saddle Club is more known as a brunch spot, but you can head on down there for dinner and a respite from the city too.
Choose from menu items like Crab Melt Sandwich, Angus Steak Strip Frites, and Pan Roasted Sea Bass for an amazing gastronomical experience.
Location: 51 Fairways Drive, Bukit Timah Saddle Club, Singapore 286965.
8. Little Island Brewing Co
This gorgeous spot in Changi Village would be perfect for a Valentine’s Day date. But with its huge seating area and far-off location, we doubt the restaurant will run out of tables for you single guys and gals out there.
Try their famous Crispy Pork Belly ($14) and Wagyu Beef Brisket Burger ($16). Or if you’re just looking for an evening with drinks, go for their self-pour craft beers and cocktails.
Location: 6 Changi Village Rd, #01-01/02, Singapore 509907.
